Comments

We collect data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) from your email may be sent to the Gravatar service. The Gravatar privacy policy is here. Approved comments display your profile picture publicly.

Media

Avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract this data from images on the website.

Cookies

  • Comments: Save name, email, and website in cookies for convenience, lasting one year.
  • Login Page: A temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies, discarded when you close your browser.
  • Login: Sets cookies to save login info and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies one year. “Remember Me” extends login for two weeks. Logout removes login cookies.
  • Editing/Publishing Articles: Sets a cookie indicating the post ID, expiring after one day.

Embedded Content

Embedded content (e.g., videos, images) behaves as if you visited the other website, which may collect data, use cookies, and monitor your interaction.

Your IP address is included in password reset emails.

Data Retention

  • Comments: Retained indefinitely for recognizing and approving follow-ups automatically.
  • Registered Users: Personal information is stored in the user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information, except the username. Website administrators can also edit this information.

Your Rights

You can request an exported file of your personal data or request its deletion, except for data required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
